Life,Photo’s,Ranting

Cant take this.. I need to get away. I need time alone. I need the long forgotten adrenaline rush of a long downhill followed by a drop/burm. It might not take all my worries or frustrations away, but it sure does help me forget it for that one moment.

Right now a couple things are worrying me. For one is MPSIP. I’m not hating the project and all but i really seem to be having a LOT of problems communicating with my group members. Why? well simply put it, 1 doesnt really have a sense of urgency for the project and the other just wants to get things done like ASAP, without letting anyone rest even after a whole days of work. I just can’t get a moment to myself in the lab. Now with the upcoming PR1 the pressure is really coming. I’m stressing out doing the PPT, trying to figure out how to use ProE with 1 group member inspecting my every move and the other just sitting at the other computer playing facebook. and when i do start to rest and play a game of some sort. The bloody CU/DU (dont know what its called) head comes and GG im caught.

Another is well.. quite a personal problem and i don’t really wanna elaborate here. and finally, the last is my parents constantly bugging me to start packing, planning and get ready for the trip overseas despite telling them constantly that i DO NOT WANT to go! I’m really sick of traveling. i really got a feeling my MPSIP is gonna lack behind and all and I’ve already told them i dont wanna travel cause of my MPSIP but noooooo… still wanna travel cause “its gonna be the last time we go together as a family” thats what they said 2years ago. Screw this shit. Hard to get them to even listen to me.

I guess i just have to suck it all up since I’ve got no choice anyway. Screw this shit.

MPSIP is slowly killing me! someone save me! Sucks to be the group leader of 2 people who are older then you. Feels weird telling them to do work and etc. The lab sucks, damn freaking warm, the DU head sucks (goes around taking photos of everyone slacking off), the supervisor is kinda blur, and finally you cant even facebook during LUNCH! WTH?! its a freaking prison cell and even prisoners are given a little money if im not wrong! Blah!

Went to marina barrage earlier to shoot fireworks with Ben and Pamela.. buttt.. IR was in the way.. so yaaaahhhh.. but most of the time spent waiting.. So i decided to shoot by rabbit plushy which was hanging on my bag.. Photos below.

Well. time for my cambodia update. Start from the start. Haha.

Cambodia 1 – 10 April 09

Well. And Off we go!

All arrived at Cambodia and met up with Mr Look. If I’m not wrong owner of Hope village. From there we bused down to the killing museum. 1st stop there.

Next we left for what else? Lunch! haha! But on the way there something caught my eye.

Yea. Kids. Searching through rubbish for food. Well.. I kinda expected seeing this here. But well. . Still wasnt prepared for it just yet.. Just after hours from landing there.

Well. Lunch. Wasnt so bad. But well.. It also seemed rather normal. haha. Okay after lunch we prepared for the UBER long bus ride to Prey Veng. Was about 2.5hrs away. So well.. kinda zZzZz throughout the whole ride there.

Had to take a boat across the river. 1st time experiencing this.. Was quite a strange experience.

Well. After the trip we finally reached our destination, were we all would call home for the next 7days. Hope village.

1st meetings and 1st impressions. Kids there were happy to see us. Surprisingly. haha! But during the course of the whole week some of us really got very attached to these kids there.. All 100+ of them. Even though sometimes we did not understand what each other was saying. It was still a very meaningful trip.

Really miss the kids there.. They just wont leave you alone..  1st one would come, then another, and another until your totally surrounded by kids. Heres an example

Yea.. Even when sleeping you are never alone. Kid there is Sokka. A damn good kid, his bother on the other hand is quite naughty. haha!

Back to topic.. From the next day onwards we all started work.

Yea. It’s an Axe. My fav tool of the trip. Why? When I use it people say i have a murderers look in my eye. haha!

6 days of solid working. And what happened next? On day 3 & 4 some of us fell sick and all of us went down with food poisoning. yea.. Was hell for the medics there.

Kids there had a little food fair for us.. Food was gooooooddddddd. haha! The food was a lot better compaired what we were eating there.

This kid.. I called him bryan. Every morning without fail will shout “Brother Noel!” and asked if i was alright or have fully recovered from the food poisoning. Love this kid. haha!

Sunday was sports day.. Sadly i could not join in due to food poisoning. So well, yea.. sucks to be me. But basically they played Ping Pong (they are freaking good) and soccer (they are even better). yea.. Team singapore got owned pretty bad. haha.

Staple drink of the trip. Sugarcane juice. 500ril each which is about.. 15cents each? Each time we go back there we spend about USD$4 and we go there about 3 times a day. haha!

Said Bye to the kids and yes.. Some of us cried when we left Hope village.

Thanked our guide! ChunLi!Brought us to the seafood restaurant . He thought us how to order Iced milk coffee!. haha. “Ca-fe Tek-nok-co”,  not” tech-no-co” which means cow urine. haha!

And we are off! Back to PHNOM PENH for shopping. Not gonna update much about Phnom Penh cause i did not really carry my camera around so that i wont get swarmed my beggers there. Was quite scary for the 1st few hours.

Yea.. He’s a begger.. And they come in swarms.

Oh! and i nearly forgot! the song we wrote there for the trip.

I HATE THE RAIN! RAWR! especially rain like todays. Come and go as it likes. It was so bring and sunny and 5mins later? RAIN!!! sian-ed and i was also on my bike! At my place it was so hot, sunny and good weather and when i reached tampines.. RAINNNN! Sian. thats the 2nd time this week. o well. At least still met up with yang and jojo for a subway “lunch” haha. Thank god I’m back in 1 piece.
Also found out im getting reallllllyyyyy forgetful! haha! i was supposed to blog about chatting to pris for like 9.5hrs on friday on MSN. haha! well.. i just did it. but ya.. forgetfulll.. Must be either beer or rain water rusting my brain.. haha!

Ha! Been a very long while since i posted anything new. Not much has happened really.. Just the usuals, school, back, school, back. Also have not really updated my Aussie trip. But well honestly i can’t really remember much from there. The only thing i can really update now is how i spent CNY.

Well this year was not much different. The usual stuff but this time did not go visiting to the relatives from my mum’s side of the family. Which was well suprising. Reason is still unknown and it is something i don’t really want to find out. Other then that. The rest is more or less the same in terms of visiting again.

Simply put it in order of time of day.

Day 1

-Grandparents place (pick them up to get to next location

-Grand Aunts place ( Popiah! no not alvin)

-Home to shower and etc (got a glimps of the eclipse. Until my bro cut himself)

– Another Grand aunts place ( for some light snack before dinner)

Day 2

-Visit Godparents house (makan a little talk a lot)

– Visit Grandparents place (Massive dinner with whole family even my uncle from aussie came over! and also my grandpa’s OLD neighbour who also moved to aussie)

Well my grandpa’s neighbour was quite interesting. His way of thinking is well strange but really different. The one thing i can really remember him saying was “don’t be stress and no hatred. Cause cancer. ” Well other than that he was teaching me all the different ways of fishing. haha! Also this year not much things happened during that dinner. Normally many bottle of wine, whisky ,etc etc will be opened but this year it was different. There was gambling. Funny to see the drastic change.

O well back to my Facebook. Haha!

Well good bye 2008 and hello to 2009!

Many things happened to me this year which changed my life both good and bad and just to list a few,

1) SME main com : Publicity Head

2) VC main com : Vice enlister

3) Learned to cycle after way too much pressure from Yang, Nick and Dick. (now i cant get off my bike)

4) Bought my “1st” bike

5) Kana water bomb while holding camera (you know who you are! :P)

6) shouted at *the puppeteer * for some reason

7) learned to use some features of photoshop

8) started shooting in film

9) made new friends & lost a few along the way

10) moved house

Hopefully the new year would be a much better year cause well this cause 2008 was not a very good one for me.

Well as some of you know I have gone and already came back from the land down under, Australia. Way to lazy to tell you all detail by detail of what happened now but will do that eventually after i send, receive and scanned the 2 rolls of film I used up there (velvia 50 slides).
